Australia approves rivalry for bookmaker licence

Among the most lucrative betting markets per capita in the world, Australia boasts a robust sports betting culture and a well-regulated legislative framework. The nation has played host to some of the biggest esports events in the globe in the past, thanks to its huge population of esports lovers. 

So, Rivalry plans to put money into growing its client base and brand recognition by launching a number of marketing campaigns aimed at attracting Australian sports bettors of all ages, from early adopters to the younger generations of Millennials and Gen Z. 

Although its Isle of Man licence has allowed Rivalry to operate internationally since 2018, Australia is the first country-specific regulated market in which the company has acquired a licencing. 

The business has its sights set on entering more regulated areas soon. Case in point: it joined the ranks of Ontario's first fully licenced operators of online gaming and sports betting on February 4, 2022.
