An innovative STEM programme for women is unveiled by Entain and McLaren.

In light of recent statistics showing that women make up 26% of sports bettors globally, McLaren has brought attention to the fact that almost 40% of Formula One fans are female, highlighting a notable change in the historically male-dominated sport.

In addition, both organisations emphasise the increasing number of women in STEM fields, even if the ratio of women in STEM jobs is still low at 24%.

“The fusion of technology, sport and entertainment, and desire to support talented women re-entering the workforce meant that launching this brand-new programme with our partner, McLaren is an obvious step,” said Jette Nygaard-Andersen, CEO of Entain, speaking about the programme.

"Our shared goal is to provide women with the resources they need to restart their STEM careers. We believe that this programme will do more than just help today's driven women; it will also encourage girls of today and tomorrow to pursue and achieve their STEM career goals."

At the same time, McLaren Racing CEO Zak Brown expressed his excitement about establishing the first Returnship in Formula One in collaboration with Entain. As part of our larger effort to increase diversity in STEM fields and hire 40% more people from underrepresented groups by 2030, we are offering this position as a chance to make a difference in the engineering and technology sectors.

Now is the time to apply for the scheme; the relationship between the two businesses started last year, and this step just broadened its scope.
